Dog Killer Gets More Money

Michael Vick
This story broke last week, but I have seriously been to enraged to sit down and do some research before writing a post, until now.
Lets be real about this situation for one minute; this joke of a man took helpless dogs, that depended upon him, and made them fight to their death.

There is no other way around it, he is guilty. He was found guilty by our judicial system served eighteen months prison for his crime and has now become more well know and financially stable since his release.

I was disgusted when the Philadelphia Eagles put him back on the field, even more disgusted that he actually still has “fans” to support him. You idiots do realize he tortured dogs for over five years, right?

To top off this horrible injustice BET has given this animal killer a reality series. I am still not sure which is worse, BET for giving Vick his own show, or those assholes who will actually watch it.

Vick claims this eight part documentary is to show his comeback with the Eagles while looking into his troubled past.

I just want people to really get to know me as an individual. What I want to do is change the perception of me. I am a human being. I’ve made some mistakes in the past, and I wish it had never happened. But it’s not about how you fall, but about how you pick yourself up.

LA Times

I am positive if Vickhad been fighting humans for five years his sentence would have been tougher and his comeback to a million dollar paycheck a little more impossible.

PETA’s reaction to this whole situation;

People who abuse animals do not deserve to be rewarded. We don’t believe Michael Vick understands the seriousness of his crime. I think he’s sorry he got caught, but only time will tell if he’s truly remorseful

I think more than showing Michael Vick’s mistakes this situation shows America’s stupidity and wiliness to turn away when crime does not involve them. These dog fights are real and they happen because those who are caught are hardly given a slap on the wrist. The entire documentary series is a publicity stunt, to trap people into feeling sorry for him. I do feel sorry for Vick, I feel sorry for all the dogs that were killed and injured during his five years of terror. Furthermore I feel pity for those who are too ignorant to see that some acts are to awful to be forgiven.
