Burn the Ships

Many of us have heard the expression, “Burn the Ships!” But what does that even mean? Where did that come from?

In 1519, Hernán Cortés arrived in Veracruz; he made history by destroying his ships upon arrival. This sent a clear message to his men: There is no turning back.

Two years later, he succeeded in his conquest of the Aztec empire.

You’re probably thinking Cortés should have kept a ship (or two) if not the entire fleet. You have to understand, Cortés was on a mission and he knew the only way to keep himself or his men from quitting on the mission was to take that option off the table.

Cortés forced to succeed or die, retreat was not an option.

Why? Because retreat is easy when you have the option.

Stop killing your dreams with the possibility of retreat

What are your ships?

What are you willing to give up?

Remember, you were made for more!💖
