How You Do One Thing

How you do one thing is how you do everything, in a similar situation.

Stay with me here, how you do one thing when no one is watching is usually different compared to how you do the same task when someone is watching.

I (re)learned this the hard way during the pandemic when I would give 50-60% effort to my home workouts.
(Who can relate to that? 🤦🏼‍♀️)

This weekend, I started to think about why I’m able to go all out in a workout class but make the active decision not to when I’m at home?
My conclusion; because no one is watching.

Some may call it accountability (or lack there of), regardless of the pretty title it’s really placing other’s opinions above your own.

When I began to ask myself why someone’s opinion of me is more important than my personal integrity (oof gut punch)- the answer wasn’t pretty, but I’d rather be aware of my dependency than continue to operate from a place of habit.

Maybe this is a little gut punch for you as well; and if it is, I sincerely hope you do something about it this week.
