Homemade Chicken Jerky
This one is for the (sensitive) doggos- homemade chicken jerky.
If you have a sensitive and picky dog like Kamea it is really difficult to find or even make treats they enjoy.
Kamea loves chicken but I do not love the ingredients in most brands (or there is something she’s allergic to).
I have wanted to try to make chicken jerky at home but I did not have the space for a dehydrator, so this is the next best thing.
Tip: Especially if you do not eat meat, like me get a separate baking sheet and cooling rack as it is difficult to get either completely clean.
Ingredients:
- Organic chicken breast
Instructions:
- Set oven to 275
- Slice chicken breast
- Place on cooling rack (on top of the baking sheet)
- Cook for 2-2.5 hours depending on how thick the chicken strips are
The jerky is good for up to two (2) weeks. I make a huge batch, portion out and freeze.
