Twelve days after being elected the forty-fourth President of the United States, Barak Obama sits down with 60 Minutes to discuss further his plans for our country and how being elected President has effected his life.
Asked when it sunk in that her husband had won, Michelle Obama told Kroft, “I remember, we were watching the returns and, on one of the stations, Barack’s picture came up and it said, ‘President-Elect Barack Obama.’ And I looked at him and said, ‘You are the 44th president of the United States of America. Wow. What a country we live in.'”
“How about that?” President-elect Obama added. “Yeah. And then she said, ‘Are you going take the girls to school in the morning?'”
“I did not,” Michelle Obama replied, laughing. “I didn’t say that.”
I find the most endearing quality that President-elect Obama posses is his amazing ability to remain a family man through out this crazy journey.
As a country we may giggle and think its a little silly that the up coming first family is looking for a dog. However I find peace in that Barak Obama is standing by his promise to his two little girls.
His daughters reportedly began lobbying him two years ago to get a dog and Obama always put them off by saying they’d get one when they move into the White House.
Kroft: Have there been moments when you’ve said, ‘What did I get myself into?’
Obama: Surprisingly enough, I feel right now that I’m doing what I should be doing. That gives me a certain sense of calm. I will say that the challenges that we’re confronting are enormous. And they’re multiple. And so there are times during the course of a given a day where you think, ‘Where do I start?’
After watching the campaign process and now watching his first interview as President-elect it is crystal clear how posed and educated Barak Obama is.
It truly makes me wonder how “President Bush” was ever elected.
I see huge change in our future America!
If you did not watch last night, here is your chance to catch up on what is going on.
