Black Bean Veggie Burgers
With the 4th of July a few days away it’s officially grilling season. I know it is difficult to find quality burgers for my vegans and pescitarians- so here is a Black Bean Veggie Burger recipe perfect for the grill.
If you know me you know I am all about quality ingredients and simplicity (aka minimal mess to clean). These black bean veggie burgers check all the boxes.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup black beans (cooked or canned), rinsed and drained
- 1/4 cup walnut pieces
- 1/4 cup yellow onion- chopped
- 1/2 cup wheat gluten flour
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp browning sauce
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
- Dairy free cheese (optional)
- 4 burger buns (optional)
- Olive oil for the pan or grill
Instructions:
- In a food process mix the beans, walnuts, and onion until they are finely chopped.
- Add in wheat flour, soy sauce, browning sauce, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Process until the ingredients are combine but there is still texture.
- Shape the mixture into 4 patties, add a little more flour if it is too wet.
- Place patties on a plate and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
- Option to freeze.
- Heat your grill add olive oil and place burgers- cook until brown about 4 minutes each side.
- Option to use a pan over medium heat.
- Serve with your favorite condiments.
